| The following are services we provide, all of which can be modifide to meet the needs of your school or organization. Arts Collaborative Program (AC) This program offers integrated arts programming that your school or organization can use as a collaborative effort with other schools and organizations to supports school curricula and bridges school-based learning with real-life experiences and applications. It is truly “hands-on” learning. Students gain skills in dance, instrumental music, writing, historical research, visual arts and design, technical theatre and marketing. Perhaps even more important, students involved in the program learn vital life skills self-discipline, perseverance, commitment, cooperation, and the satisfaction that results from working together to achieve something positive. In the current educational climate, where schools are often struggling to do too much with too few resources, the AC program helps build school spirit, improve communication and raise morale while reaching out to the community in partnership to be a part of making community schools better. Artist in Resident Program (AIR) Provides the opportunity for PT ARTS artists to share their technical expertise and unique artistic perspective with students and teachers at your school. Teachers, students and artists will work together in building a program that they will perform. These experiences can range from a 4 to 8 weeks or a semester-long series of classroom visits with one grade level or the entire school. Artists are available in the following disciplines: dance, drama and drumming. For grades K-12 Pre-Dance Rhythm, music and creative movement combined with age appropriate exercises aid in developing body awareness and focusing attention in the young child. This class forms the base for dance training by developing locomotion and introducing beginning dance fundamentals. For Grades K-2 Jazz Dance Using music of today, this form of dance involves muscle toning, stretching, and rhythm exercises. Students learn various forms of movement and the wide terminology utilized in this form of dance. For Grades 3-12 Hip-Hop This form of dance is the most popular with students. Useing East and Weast Coast styles of Hip-Hop mixed with Funk this class is high energy and lots of fun for students. For Grades 3-12 Classical Ballet Russian Technique: Students learn beginning or intermediate level exercises and ballet terminology. Classical Ballet is the foundation for every dance form and every dancer should have ballet as part of their dance education. It develops self-discipline, beautiful posture, a controlled body, strength, stamina and poise. For Grades 2-12 Acting I Taking imagination and energy and channeling it through creative dramatics, students will be introduced to the basics and fun of acting as well as the opportunity to develop their existing acting skills. For Grades 3-6 Acting II Improvisation, theatre games and age-appropriate scenes to develop acting skills for the beginning/intermediate student For Grades 7-10 Drumming/Percussion Students will learn the basics of drumming and percussion through the study of various African drumming traditions. For Grades K-12 PT ARTS understand that many children often have special needs that manifest themselves in the classroom. Our instructors all have experience in working with these challenges, and come prepared with innovative strategies for focusing energy into creative and productive expression. our mission to provide positive role models and clear expectations for the youth of today. |
